The only Turaco species to exhibit sexual dimorphism, the cock bird has a dark beak, whilst the hen possesses an olive-coloured one. The White-bellied Go-away Bird measures approximately 50 cm beak to tail, and weighs around 170-200 grams. Throughout its distribution, the White-Bellied prefers savannah or open country habitats, from sea level to around 1700 m. It feeds on fruits, leaves and seed pods. CITES: Not globally threatened, and considered generally common throughout its range. Return to Species Page |
